So now that I’ve actually mustered enough energy to wash my face. I thought I’d up my game and try to paint my face from time to time. Here’s what I’ve been playing with as of late.
I’ve never been one for a full on face of makeup so I try to keep my foundation as light weight as possible.
Charlotte Tilbury’s Light Wonder Foundation is perfection. I use shade 4.5 fair. I appreciated their pretty extensive shade matcher on their website; it took all the guess work out of a first time online foundation purchase. It evens my skin tone and gives off a subtle glow. It is by no means full coverage but I like that about it. If you’re going for the makeup-no-makeup trend it does the trick.
With my son still waking up two to three times a night, it’s no surprise I have some pretty dark under eyes. I need my concealer to be full coverage.
Nars Radient Creamy Concealer is exactly what I need. I like a creamy moisturizing feel to my concealer as I hate when they cake up. I also make sure to use a concealer in a slightly lighter tone than my foundation to add some highlight, I am currently using Custard but feel I could go even a tad bit lighter next time.
Eye Shadow Primer
I’ve gone most of my adult life thinking this was a completely unnecessary product being pushed on us. After taking the plunge and seeing what all the hubbub was about.
Nars Eye Shadow Primer is a product I can’t live without, go figure. The difference it makes is striking. I guess I had oilier eyelids than I thought. With this primer the color pops and doesn’t blend into an indistinguishable shade of beige by the end of the day.
I usually alternate between a beige and a light pink subtle smokey eye for a daytime polished look.
Two Faced Born This Way Natural Nudes is my go to color palette. It’s a bare essential for any make up lover. It has everything I need. The pigment really comes through and is easily blend-able. Its a versatile palette for any day or night time look.
This is a new step for me. One I have been hesitant to take, but boy am I glad I did.
I am in love with Charlotte Tilbury’s Contour Wand Duo. It leaves my face with this natural dewey skin. The finish is fantastic and a little goes a long way, which is a good thing because the only catch is that the wand does not come full of product. In fact, I don’t even think it comes half full. It’s pretty pricey too, so I’m disappointed in Charlotte for this. But I’ve had my wands for over two months now and it doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon.
This has been my tried and true blush for well over a decade.
Nars Blush in shade Orgasm. It leaves my skin with the most perfect natural rosy cheeks. Every time I’ve ventured to try another blush I always find my way back to this little gem.
It has been a little over a year since I have worn lipstick. I think most mask wearing women share my pain. What I have been doing however is investing in some heavy duty lip balms and lip sleeping masks for nighttime, because even lip gloss bothers me with a mask on during the day,
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Lemon Sorbet is by far my favorite. It’s smooth decadent and refreshing and just what my lips need after a full mask wearing day. My three year old is just as obsessed as I am as well.
That’s pretty much all I’ve been playing with since I started work again. I’d love to hear what must have products you use and how your make up routine has changed since Covid.
